My first impression was “Wow!”, taking into account that  this is a camera-phone. What do you guys think of the quality of the camera and how it compares to existing phones?

Canon UK is having a show on October 27th and 28th to show all the new stuff.

That being said i would like to point out some very cool features:

• first and foremost it’s the improved high dynamic range that allows the camera to capture more details in darker area of a photograph
• another feature first seen in a DSLR camera, it’s the ability to produce a HDR image in camera from 3 different exposures.
• 77 metering sensors improves the ability of the camera to automatically set the correct exposure of the photograph
• ability to embed copyright information into the EXIF of all the photograph, feature seen only in pro DSLRs like Canon 1Ds Mark III or Nikon D3
• improved weather sealing on the body of magnesium/steel alloy with steel sub-structure
• ability to correct chromatic aberrations and lens distortions in camera.
• live view with contrast and face detection focusing
• improved vibration reduction with Sensor-shift system
• ability to scan the image sensor and exactly points out where you have dust on your sensor, and ability that can help a lot when manually cleaning your sensor
• video capture as the rest of the cameras from this generation
• dedicated RAW button that allows easy switching between RAW and JPG file formats without wasting time changing it in the menu settings
• allows you to custom change the name of the images
• another useful feature is the dedicated white balance sensor
  
• and last, but not least cool feature is, THE SIZE, having a very small size compared to Nikon or Canon.

Bottom line is that, they pulled out a cool camera, that I would love to have it in my equipment arsenal. These were only the features that appealed to me, but if you wish to read more about it’s specifications you can go to http://www.pentaximaging.com/slr/K-7/.

Also there is a new rumor that on the same day the new Canon TSi/500D will see the daylight. Although the first rumor said that this is going to be released at the PMA ( check this ), but it wasn’t released then. Anyway, we will wait an see.

Ohh and here is a list of specs for those of you who didn’t read the first post about this Canon TSi/500D:

So to get out of the confusion the MiniTT1 it’s a transmitter and the FlexTT5 is a transceiver (meaning that it can act as transmitter and receiver).

Here’s what new PocketWizards can do:

• You can control your strobes in TTL mode. You can use  20 channels in TTL photography or 32 standard channels in manual flash photography.
• When using multiple strobes you can use HyperSync™ Technology to push your shutter speed up to 1/500th.
• You can even push your ControlTL system to get flash sync with shutter speeds beyond 1/500 and and even up to 1/8000. To do this you will automatically get into FP/High-Speed sync mode.
• You can connect your PocketWizars to your PC via USB and configure it or update it’s firmware.
• FlexTT5 has an Auto-Sensing Transceiver Technology that enables it to switch back and forth between Transmitter and Receiver modes as needed for greater flexibility on the job.
• The new system of PocketWizards can still be used with older ones like PlusII or MultiMAX but you will need a FlexTT5 as transmitter.

And some last info, the PocketWizards will be available by 1st of March for Canon and Q2 2009 for Nikon.

I cant’ wait to test them to see if it worths the money.

A couple of weeks ago ShutterVoice was announced in a beta testing state where only a few were chosen to test it. Now it’s finally out for you to buy with a price tag of 30$.

For those of you who aren’t aware of what this software can do here’s a quick summary. Shutter voice enables you to control you camera (that’s connected to your computer) by voice,  through the Canon EOS Utility. It allows you to change a whole bunch of settings just by telling that to your camera. Unfortunately it can be used only by Canon owners. Here’s more information and don’t forget to watch the video demonstration. This software is excellent when you are testing different light setups and the only model available is you.

I would like to add that among those few people chosen to test ShutterVoice I was chosen as well. Played a couple o hours with the software and I have to say that I was pretty amazed of what it can do. But, you must have a very goo microphone and you must be able to speak clearly so that the computer understands what you want. You might want to know if I was that impressed that I would want to buy it, the answer is YES, but I won’t for know until I upgrade my  Canon 40D to a camera that can automatically focus in live view mode. That is because my 40D can’t automatically focus so still i have to go back an forward to my camera to focus.
